The new Playstation Portable, known as the Playstation Vita, is on its way, and with that comes a whole new wave of customisation ideas. With so many different features and doubtless a more impressive screen, your custom backgrounds are going to look better than ever before.
However, there are some hinderances to beefing up your PS Vita when it comes to customisation outside the background. First up - the rear-mounted touch-sensitive area. This could make putting a case on the thing difficult, but we're sure that whether you just want to browse to www.partypoker.com or play the Uncharted PS Vita title, there'll be a first or third-party product that'll let you do so without the touch-sensitive area being rendered less sensitive or useful.
The other interesting customisable feature will be the dual-stick setup. There are many different third-party products that can beef up the Dualshock Controller's sticks or L2 and R2 buttons, as some feel them to be a little on the poor side. We're sure there'll be additional products brought on to alter the way the PS Vita feels.
Cases will probably be one of the most popular products, because pronounced dual-stick set-ups must need some form of protection lest they catch on something, as sliding it into your pocket (if you did this with the PSP, well done - your pockets must be fairly big) will be significantly more diffcult.
At the end of the day, what we offer you here won't change. We'll be looking into the PS Vita when it launches at the end of 2011, and like everyone else interested in the Sony line of products, are waiting to see how it's received. Until then, PSP, go!
